Professor Dr Lila García is a current Visiting Fellow at the Chair for Human Rights Law, where her visit is supported by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation funding provided to the Chair.

She is senior researcher (tenured and salaried) at the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET), Argentina, Adjunct (Associate) Professor (tenure track) at the National University of Mar del Plata, where she teaches International Contemporary Politics and Argentinean Foreign Policy, and leading professor of the seminar on Economic, Social, Cultural and Environmental Rights at the National University of La Pampa (UNLPam, Argentina). She is also PI in the project “Geopolitics of Human Mobility. (F)actors in the politics of classification of contemporary human mobility in and from a Global South” (2025-2026)” (University of Mar del Plata), and Country Expert in the project “ACCESS. The evolving role of courts in shaping Access to Asylum” (University of Bologna).

Previously, she was LIAS Fellow 2025-2026 at Leuphana University Lüneburg, FFTV Visiting Fellow at FAU-CHREN, CAPES Visiting Fellow at University of Fortaleza (Brazil) and Visiting Professor at National University of Mexico (UNAM). He has also won several awards and honorable mentions in human rights essay and research contests: Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court (American University Washington DC), UNESCO Uruguay, Mexican Human Rights Commission, American University Washington DC Awards, Legislature of the State of Mexico, OAS (Organization of the American States) American Summit Contest, Mexican Supreme Court of Justice and Judicial Training Awards, Judicial Council of the City of Buenos Aires, among others.
