Jakob Werling is currently pursuing his law degree at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg, with a focus on public international law.
Prior to joining the FAU Humboldt Chair for Human Rights Law as a Student Research Assistant, Jakob gained practical experience in the Legal Compliance team at Siemens Mobility. He also completed the 2025 Summer School “From Nuremberg to The Hague” in International Criminal Law.
Alongside his studies, Jakob is actively involved in student and civil society initiatives. He is a member of the student body representation (Fachschaft Jura), where he works on political and civic education, and is engaged in the Amnesty International university group, contributing in particular to outreach and communication.
In his seminar paper, he explored the topic of freedom of expression and its challenges in the digital age.
In his current role, he supports research projects, assists in teaching activities, and contributes to the organization of academic events.
